Weekly Roundup: June 23rd-29th

Happy Monday from Bologna Global Rights Exchange!

Authors are seriosuly talking about the dangers of AI to their work, but as much as publishers might be able to listen, governments have the responsibility to act before the crisis gets worse. It's definitely true that being a writer in this day and age is a completely different profession from what it used to be, but then has anything really stayed the same?

In Italy there are ongoing discussions regarding the value of books for the economy and society's education. Innocenzo Cipoletta, who has been reelected president of the Association of Italian Publishers, says: "May the government support the world of books." Hopefully his words will be heard...

In our own way, we can make changes, by enhancing our reading habits and supporting authors as well as publishers in their endeavour to make quality writing available and accessible to others. The moral cause of this industry must not be forgotten. Let's take advantage of the summer months to get on top of our reading lists - GRE's weekly roundup is always a good place to start.

With that said, buona lettura!
